Last Day in Nanjing...

Today is our last day in Nanjing (Jiangsu Province). We are flying to Guangzhou this afternoon where we will finish all of our paperwork and finalize Isaiahs documentation.
All is good with Isaiah...he is extremely less shy than we originally thought. He runs up to every car and motorcycle we see and tries to go for a ride. When he doesn't get his way he throws a small fit by going limp (passive resistance)...we think he was spoiled in the orphanage and got whatever he wanted (our guide said he was one of the few boys so he was probably treated like an emperor). We took him to the local mall arcade and his first Starbucks. He seemed to enjoy the bumper cars and is adapting well to "American entertainment."
We love and miss you all. Please pray that Isaiah will continue to adjust to us and that the extremely long plane ride home next week is uneventful!!

  1. SO glad that Isaiah continues to adjust so well. Just goes to show God's hand in all this. I will continue to pray for him to respond to yall well (especially on the long flight) and that communication continues to be easy. Keep the pictures coming! It's great to follow along with yall.

BTW, isn't it such a treat to find a Starbucks when you're in the middle of a totally different culture? :) That's what it was like for us in Germany!

  3. He looks a little disappointed in the bumper car. I know language is a barrier but I think what he is telling you is that he wants a Hummer, he wants to drive and he wants it now!!!!
